LOL Haven't posted since September, I'm setting up a new standard for laziness here :P How are my dear readers doing? Oh wait... I have no readers. ._. Can't really complain about that, there's totally no interest in reading a never updated Live Journal so don't worry, I do understand your point and I'll forgive you... for now.

So much stuff happened since my last post, I'll try to sum it up in a few lines:

- I left you guys with me being a little WHM60, well that changed :P I hit WHM 75 a couple months ago in a crazy pt with never ending chains and with me being a WHM puller. <3 Repose

WHM hits 75

- I got my sea access and joined a HNMLS as well. I don't really like doing HNM stuff, but there's some items I really want, and the only way to get them is... joining a HNMLS. =\

Limbus

- All the time spent in that shell payed off eventually, and I can finally sport my own Kirin's Osode and a Brutal Earring.

My own osode

My Brutal earring

- I've started to develop a strong passion for mage jobs lately. I wish I realized it before I spent so much money, time and effort on collecting melee gear for my BST. I started a set party with my LS a while ago and we hit 64 recently.

Set party

- I level RDM occasionally in that set party, meanwhile I'm duoing BLM up to 75 with my friend I duoed BST with: Tastywaffles. :P

Duoing BLM

There would be a lot to write about, but I'll just summarize everything like that. I'll try to go into details in the next few days, with (hopefully) more frequent and well thought posts.

With the recent FFXI update, the drop rate on materials to synthesize some of the best BST jugs has been adjusted, and it has been made A LOT better. Some materials will even drop twice from a mob, but I'll talk about that in a more detailed post one of these days.
Meanwhile, while hunting for materials, I got these 2 guys.

That obviously didn't drop.

Which got me a new toy for my RNG 66:

After long time, I've decided to raise a new digging chocobo to play Hot and Cold and maybe give another try at Chocobo Digging. My current digging chocobo is plain yellow, not very stylish, so I decided to get me a black one.
I got a Black F and M cards from two friends of mine, let them do their stuff, started raising the new chocobo and this was the result...

I even called her BlackBonbon thinking she was gonna be black. T.T

Posting the details for the wedding for my LS, so everyone can read and I don't have to forward the mail to everyone.

==========================================

       Wedding Ceremony Procedures

==========================================

Etiquette
------------------

A wedding is a sacred event and should be observed with the utmost respect. Thus, during our ceremonies, it is important for all involved to conduct themselves in the appropriate manner.

If the behavior of the participants and/or guests is deemed improper or disruptive, we reserve the right to cancel the ceremony. Please help us to create a joyous and memorable occasion for the bride and groom by ensuring that everyone obeys this simple etiquette:

- Do not be late
- Do not move around needlessly during the
  ceremony.
- Do not bring monsters to the wedding site, and
  then release them.
- Do not come to the wedding site on your own.
Please stay in the designated waiting area.
- Do not use /shout for ANY reason while waiting.
- Refrain from casting spells, synthesizing, or
using unnecessary items until the ceremony is
  over.
- Refrain from unnecessary chatting once the
  ceremony begins, including excessive emotes.
- Do not engage in battle.
- Maintain a reasonable standard of decency
  during the ceremony.
- Do not engage in any other activities that
  might disrupt the ceremony.
- Do not send unnecessary /tells to the groom or bride.
Questions should be directed to the chaperone.
- Do not invite more guests than your selected location allows for.
The attendance limit is based on the site, and limits are in place to avoid latency.

It is the responsibility of the chaperones to inform all attendees of the above etiquette, but they are free to do so in their own words, if they wish.

It may be a good idea to recruit helpers and ushers who can direct and caution the attendees upon arrival, or shortly before the ceremony begins.

Please make sure your ushers do not block other players (non-guests) that need to enter the wedding site to speak to quest NPCs.

Attire and Appearances

In regards to attire, helmets, masks, visors, faceguards and heavy head items should not be worn. Hats, cloaks, circlets, eyeglasses and the like are acceptable. Female guests should not wear opaline, ceremonial, or wedding feet, leg or body items out of respect for the bride.

If your wedding is indoors (Inside the Count's Manor or Jeuno, or a special location like Hall of the Gods), please ask guests to remove their hats.

It is recommended that one dress in a manner befitting a sacred occasion. This request extends not only to the bride, groom, and chaperone, but to all those who plan to attend the ceremony. The bride, groom, and chaperone should discuss this matter beforehand in order to establish a general guideline, which in turn should be passed on to all attendees. However, the only OFFICIAL rules for attire are the previously mentioned ones regarding heavy headgear and opaline/ceremonial/wedding gear.

Weapons

We ask that the bride, groom, and chaperone leave their weapons equipped during the ceremony. The wedding vows are based on weapon types. Guests are welcome to wear their weapons. Shields are optional.

Arrangements
-------------

Chateau d'Oraguille
-------------------------------
Groom, bride and chaperone should meet by the fountain in the middle of Chateau d'Oraguille near (H-8)
Guests MUST meet and wait in the Great Hall near the NPC Halver
This location allows for up to 18 attendees including the groom, bride and chaperone
Fees are 30,000g plus an additional 50,000g if the bridal set is desired.

The bride, groom, and chaperone must proceed directly to the wedding site, where they will be asked to confirm some information and preferences. At this time, the chaperone must pay all wedding fees to the Temple Knight when requested. Then, the chaperone will be given the confetti crackers, which must be distributed to the guests after practice. The wedding rings are EX items, and will be placed directly in to inventories of the groom and bride. They should not be equipped until the appropriate time in the ceremony. The bride's wedding dress set, if requested, will be placed in her inventory since it is also EX. She may not equip the items until practice is complete.

After all of your preferences have been confirmed, the Wedding Master will describe the procession for the bride, groom, and chaperone. The Wedding Master will make sure the instructions are clear, and will ask the bride, groom, and chaperone to try it on cue. On completion, the Wedding Master will review some information about the ending for the chaperone. The chaperone will then be dispatched to the guests so that they can review the rules and distribute the crackers. The Wedding Master will review the script with the groom and the bride during this time, and will contact the chaperone when the review has been completed. The chaperone will be instructed to lead the guests to the seating areas (in walk mode) at this point.

PLEASE NOTE: On the wedding day, the three of you must be at the wedding site and ready to meet 60 minutes before the scheduled wedding start time. This means that you should all be able to see /say chat, and ALL early guests must be at the waiting area. The Wedding Master is on an extremely tight schedule and cannot wait for more than 10 minutes if you are late. If the three of you are not at the wedding site and ready to meet by 10 after the hour (for example, 4:10PM if the meeting is scheduled for 4:00PM), the wedding will be cancelled, without exception. You are encouraged to recruit some of your guests to serve as ushers to help keep the guests at the waiting area.

* Both the bride and groom must keep at least one inventory space open to hold the wedding ring. The chaperone must reserve one inventory space to hold the crackers.

* If a bridal set was requested in the application, the bride will need 4 additional empty inventory spaces to hold the entire set. If the set was not requested on the application, but you'd like it anyway, please bring the 50,000g fee to the ceremony, and inform the WM when your preferences are confirmed. If the Bride has Opaline or Ceremonial gear, she MUST NOT equip these items until the guests are seated.

Hay everyone,
I'm surprised of how damn lazy I can be :D I started this LJ with all the possible good intentions, and yet I post on it very rarely. It's also the lack of feedbacks that kinda makes me not wanna post. -.- So in the end it's all your fault! T.T

Anyway, things got a little bit better in the last few weeks. Thanks to a few lucky KS drops I don't have to starve anymore, I even bought my Hauberk back which I sold some time ago to buy a Scorpion Harness. Yeah, I know I have an Haubergeon already, but I do care about looks and the Hauberk... yeah, it looks damn good :P

I burned my Anniversary Ring to take SAM to 30 as fast as possible, so that I could use it as a Ballista sub. Who would ever thought that /SAM would be so good... I've been attending Ballista as DRG/SAM and RNG/SAM lately and I'm loving it. :D

I've also been able to finally persuade some of those LS members who are always bored to play events together. Even if the reward is not super fantastic, at least it's a chance to have fun all together... and always better than sitting in your mog house spamming /l gawd I'm bored. <.<

I took them to play an ENM in Holla and they had lots of fun :)

Resting after the first Memory Receptacle in Promyvion - Holla.

Before the battle!

The fight was so damn easy it was unbelievable -.- Party setup was BRD (me), BLU, BLU, BLU, RNG. The mob really died in a matter of seconds... oh well, free 3.000 EXP :P

P.S: Sorry for the poor quality of the pics, this laptop is weird :P

FFXI gets boring at a certain point if you're like me and don't do endgame, so I've been looking around trying to find a good alternative to it, so I bought a copy of Lineage 2 and played that for a couple weeks.

What does it have better than FFXI:
1- You can solo whenever, wherever, regardless of your job (class).
2- Everything takes sooooo little time, you can invite a person to a party regardless of where he/she is in the world, and thanks to Gatekeepers (their version of our Outpost Warps) moving around is extremely easy. They teleport you to cities or dungeons for a small fee.
3- Money drop off mobs! :D

What does it not have better than FFXI:
1- EXP is pure grinding, same mob over and over and over for hours and hours... Not much different than FFXI, but in Lineage 2 you get to a point in which you're gonna need days of grinding for 1 level.
2- There is no crafting... or better, only the Dwarf race can craft, and the only thing they craft are consumables called Soulshots (when used, your next melee attack does 2x damage) and Spiritshots (when used, your next spell has 2x effect). The whole economy is based on pure luck: you have to get a big drop for some mob or find someone selling a pricey weapon for less its usual price, and resell it for an higher price... pretty lame.
3- Quests are like... "Bring me 500 necklaces from that kind of mob." WHAT?! That requires days to get done. That's pretty retarded.

Lineage 2 has duel system that lets you challenge directly another player, the fight starts 3 seconds after you accept the duel and the loser doesn't lose EXP or anything, he/she just bows to the winner and that's the end of it. Pretty nice :P
They also have funny events like Sieges, where 2 rivals clan fight to control a City Castle, Olympiads, that is a big PvP competition and lots of stuff more... but I didn't really have the chance to see much of it, 'cause I'm just lv27 u_u.

Even though it's a nice game, it didn't really catch my interest <.< Maybe I'm too used to FFXI, thus playing a game with some mindless grinding seems like a waste of time and brain to me. I'll keep playing till my free month expires, then probably cancel my account there 'cause the game is really nothing special.

I guess I'll have to start getting into FFXI endgame -.- /sigh.

Hope to write something soon.

Alu~

Finally, after a lot, A LOT of partying, we managed to get to Lv. 60 :3

I still can't say if I'm up to take WHM past 60 though... The job is good and all, but it can get very busy and frustrating some times. Keep everyone Hasted and alive, keep an eye on the NIN's shadows and Flash, and besides all that there's enfeebling too if you happen to be the only mage in your party. I've been WHM/SMN all the time and I honestly think this sub for WHM simply rocks. The MP boost is really huge ( and as an Elvaan you REALLY need MP :P ), and Auto Refresh is a real blessing to keep chains going. In sanction areas it becomes a nice 2mp/tic which is nice already, add a RDM or BRD to that and you become an unlimited MP source. I've focused my gear on the hMP instead of plain MP. That let me get a lot of MP while resting and I never had MP issues.
Overall, I think I did a good job: no one ever died in my parties and the pullers never stopped 'cause I was resting.

It's time to test how would I fare in Ballista as WHM :P I'll keep you posted.

After the delusion coming from my Ballista performance as RNG, I decided to take a break from everything and go back to the job I started the game with: WHM. I'm leveling in a set with two good ballista friends of mine: Wysard (DRK) and Anathema (SAM). Partying with them is great: exp is so fast that we went from lv 37 to 48 in really no time. Our parties are pretty hardcore tho, we level like 6 hours straight per day. The difference from mine and their timezone makes things very difficult for me anyway ._. We start at my 9 P.M. and end up at like 2 A.M. or something... they'd level for some more, but since I get sleepy and need a break after all that partying, they're forced to stop when I do.
I'm kinda sorry for them since they wanna get to lv60 as soon as possible and join Ballista with those 2 jobs, but geez... my body has its limits.

Me, Wysard and Rodriguez (RDM) partying in Yhoator Jungle.

Wysard has estimated we'll get to lv60 in a week or a bit more if we keep going at this pace.
Let's hope for the best... =.=;

What I didn't mention in the brief description of me a few posts ago is that I play Ballista a lot.
For those who don't know, Ballista is FFXI form of PvP. People are divided in 2 teams representing 2 nations of Vana'diel (like San d'Oria vs Windurst for example), and the purpose of the game is to score more points than the enemy team. To score you need to use a ballista command called /quarry that lets you dig for temporary items or Petras, which you have to toss inside a Rook so that your team gets points. To be able to toss your Petras inside a Rook though, you need a special status called Gate Breach, which can be obtained by defeating an opponent or helping a team mate doing so.
I love playing Ballista, it's the only thing I find really funny in this game, 'cause everyone can take down a Tiamat or whatever, but when you have to face another player... well, it's there that you really have the chance to test your fighting skills.
And mine suck horribly... lol.
I attend Ballista with 2 jobs mainly, BST and BRD, and with neither of these 2 I can seem to set up a good fight.

When I'm a BRD, I can't buff people 'cause everyone runs around like crazy, and the song casting time isn't really short as you all might now. That ends up with only me getting that Valor Minuet III I was just singing for those WARs. <.< Not to mention I can't use Horde nor Foe Lullaby, since Foe usually hits a shadow (Yeah, people in Ballista tend to be shadow whores), and if I catch them without shadows, I can't sleep them anyway 'cause someone in my team has already used Poisonga or Diaga on them to remove their shadows. Thanks to the DoT, they wake up immediatly after Lullaby lands: this means a dead BRD. Lullaby is probably the only defense a BRD has, I wish people would realize that. Once someone can't be slept, and since a BRD doesn't have any way to avoid damage besides a good defense, the BRD herself automatically becomes his/her main target for the rest of the match. It's pretty common for me to have to deal with a whole team at once, trying to lure them towards my team mates or simply running away trying to buy my mates some time. It gets frustrating 'cause trying not to die doesn't leave me time to do anything else. Every match ends up with me being super frustrated for having been ganged by every enemy, and my team complaining about me doing a poor job calling me "leecher". :(

Things aren't any better when I'm a BST. Being basically a watered down WAR, I can't do as much damage as them, even though the play style is the same. Not to mention I never get to use pets, since they get singled out by the enemies and defeated/used for TP gain, or I simply die in the very moment I call a pet, with the latter disappearing: :/ Even with BST, there's the usual complaining about the team mates: "Gawd, we got the BST, we've lost already."

So, tired of always having to run away and never get the chance to strike at my enemies, I decided to level RNG. I tried joining a cap60 today as RNG58/NIN and... well, I did no better, nor worse than usual. I surely killed a lot more than when I'm BST, but the damage wasn't that great, my life span wasn't much longer than BRD or BST either, and I had to deal with the usual people about whom I'll talk in a future post. I don't think it's the level that made my performance poor, but there's something in me that is simply wrong.

I suck as a Ballista player, that's simply the truth and I'm the very first person to admit it. I lack in many things like sense of teamwork, judging whether I should attack someone or not, being able to kill, score and survive all together. The more I try to improve, the less I accomplish. It always seems like my efforts are going to waste, maybe because I think too little and get angry too much, or maybe because I always find myself facing those who are considered "the best players" on my server. All my friends keep telling me that it's just a game, but it's not.

I'll talk more about my Ballista issues soon <.< Kinda sleepy now.
